The Curl |
Start with plate in the flat of your right hand and move it in an anti-clockwise direction so that plate goes under your arm. When it is behind you lift it while continuing the circle; bring it over your head and return it to the starting position. You'll need to move your body around to make space for the plate at each stage of the process. If you exaggerate the sweep over your head you'll get the Extended Curl . |
Reverse Curl |
An exact reverse of the Curl, watch the video and you'll soon work it out. |
Behind back transfer |
Start with a reverse curl, but instead of bringing the plate under the arm take it behind your back and pass it to the left hand, from there do a normal curl to return to the start position. |
Curl to catch behind the back |
Start the curl as normal but, just before taking the plate over your head, drop it flat down the side of the body. Bend forward slightly to get your body out of the way and catch it with the other hand. |
Curl throw |
Start the curl as normal but, just before taking the plate over your head, throw the plate flat and catch in the start position |
Two Handed Curls |
Start with a normal right handed upward curl and as soon as the palm is facing forward at the top reach the left hand over and put it onto plate to the right of the right hand. Curl both hands round the front of the plate, which comes down in front of the belly, and then continue to bring the hands round to the back, pushing the plate back up to the left. Take the right hand off and do a left handed downward curl. |
